Workshop, Dinner and a Show

Service Description

Juxtaposed on the southern fishtail of Long Island where plenty of water vistas coalesce and collide, join me in my Hamptons home where we will spend the afternoon workshopping you and your music with the gifted pianist Addison Frei. Focusing on exploring new possibilities in your expression and arrangements, bring standards, covers and originals and allow us to play. Sharing music and ideas is the goal, making connections and inspiring new pathways is on the dinner table. We’ll take a break where you may use the time to rewrite your chart, jot down lyrics and process the changes OR walk to the beach, sit in the garden or help me prepare the supper. After dinner we’ll retire to the living room where we’ll hear the fruits of our labor and celebrate the joy of music, collaboration and community. We must have 5 singers to run the date. Sign up deadline by July 11, 2023. Full Refund if class does not fill. The Schedule: 12:00 - 3:00 PM, Workshop 3:00 - 4:00 PM, clean up charts, finalize shapes, write lyrics, day dream, etc. 4:00 - 5:00 PM, Free time, meal prep, walk, hang out, talk about vocal health, run final ideas past us. 5:00 - 6:00 PM, Dinner 6:15 - 7:45 PM, Concert 8:00 PM drive attendees to bus/train, if need be. What to Bring: Bring 3 songs that are in various states of completion, songs that you are looking to rework or deepen your expression. We’ll choose 2 that seem to have the most potential for this immersion and time constraint. Standards, covers and originals are welcome. Bring charts that have a good road map to start with. Be open to suggestions and possible key changes. One never knows what will happen, the idea is to try things and see where it leads. You will have time to tweak your charts, work on new elements and writing suggestions during the day. In-the-moment creativity is thrilling, take the leap with us and lets see what emerges. Guests are welcome for Dinner and the Show. An additional $35 is requested for each guest. Info on Public Transportation available upon request.
